The 2014 WLS Cheder LAFTA Entry – A Day In The Life of Israel
The 2013 Cheder Kids – Aleph Bet Video
Our lively Cheder meets every Saturday during term time, running parallel to the Shabbat services in the sanctuary. We also join together as a community once a month for a family service.
Head Teacher Josh Newham (pictured below) leads a young and dedicated team of staff, who provide our children with a positive experience of being part of a Liberal Jewish community.
We teach our children a creative curriculum, including drama, singing, arts and craft, telling stories, writing poems and making videos. As well as teaching our students about Jewish festivals, characters within the Torah and Liberal Jewish values, we teach Hebrew in an interesting and interactive way so as to lead up to and allow full participation in our services.
The Cheder teaches children of all school years, from Reception to Year 11, and we are happy for your child to start whenever you feel ready. We offer dedicated Bar/Bat Mitzvah sessions for our pupils reaching this important milestone. Following Bar/Bat Mitzvah, we have a growing number of pupils continuing their Liberal Jewish education by entering the Yachdav and Kabbalat Torah programmes, for those in Year 9 – Year 11.
We take pride in our classroom displays and always love to show off our children’s talents. Josh loves to welcome people to take a look around the Cheder at any time.
If you would like to join or learn more about our Cheder please call Josh Newham on 020 8989 7619 or email him on email@example.com
