LJ-Netzer Machaneh Kadimah Summer Camp
Machaneh Kadimah is LJY-Netzer’s incredible flagship Summer Camp and the most fun you’ll have all year if you’re in school years 3-10, taking place from Tuesday 11th August – Monday 24th August at the beautiful Sandroyd School in Wiltshire!
We bring together young Liberal Jews from all over the UK (and the world), for two weeks of action-packed fun filled days as part of an amazing, inclusive Liberal Jewish community.
The programme of creative activities is planned by a top-notch bunch of highly-trained madrichim (youth leaders). Also on the tsevet (staff) are the LJY-Netzer movement workers, full-time professionals with decades of collective youth work experience, as well as a medic, a rabbi and welfare officer and Liberal Judaism’s Director of Youth, Rebecca Fetterman.
A typical day on Kadimah will see you playing the craziest games, heading to the art room, discussing what Liberal Judaism means to you today in informal educational sessions, nipping for a swim in the indoor swimming pool, singing and praying in some awesome ma’amadim (creative services), chilling during free time, eating some delicious food cooked by the now legendary Kaye, getting involved in social action, then a fantastic Arve Tarbut (evening activity) before you’re off to your dormitory for some relaxation before bed.
All the chanichim (participants) on Machaneh Kadimah are split into five shichvot (age groups). Each shichva has its own timetable for each day that is age-appropriate and mind-blowingly exciting, as well as enjoying whole-camp activities that are always big highlights.
Generations have been through LJY-Netzer and come out the other side inspired and ready to be the next generation of Liberal Jewish leaders – Just look around your congregations to see what we mean!
Ask anyone who’s been on Kadimah what they thought of it and you’ll get the same response: it was the time of their lives! To sign up and to see videos and photos to whet your appetite, follow this link:
