WLS Services This Week

Friday 27th June: Erev Shabbat starts with an explanatory service at the usual time of 8:00 pm and it is led by Rabbi Richard Jacobi

Saturday 28th June: Shabbat morning service is at the usual time of 10:30 am; it includes a Torah reading from Bereishit 37:18-36, the Rosh Chodesh blessing for the new month of Tammuz, plus a baby blessing and Kiddush to celebrate the birth of Shifra, daughter of Ben and Zara Fryer – the service is led by Rabbi Richard Jacobi


Saturday 28th JuneCheder continues at the usual time of 10:20 am

Scholar In Residence Weekend: 4th/5th July we welcome Professor Rabbi Larry Hoffman to Woodford with our Woodford Resouled service on Friday 4th July and on Saturday 5th July will be hearing more from Professor Hoffman

Learning At Woodford: The spring/summer ‘LAW’ programme continues with Literature of the Rabbis sessions on Tuesday evenings at 7:15 pm and Prayer Book Hebrew on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm – see the LAW page for more details

Liberal Judaism Sunday Seminars

Sunday 29th June: A new series of LJ Sunday Seminars starts with Tending The Flock – deals with caring and welfare issues – see thisflyer for more information and how to book your place.

Sunday 20th July: The next Sunday Seminar will explore music – for details will follow later

Redbridge Jewish Community Centre

Wednesday 2nd July: RJCC Film Night Operation Mural – This documentary tells the little known story of how 530 Jewish children were smuggled out of Morocco to Israel in 1961.  Mural was the code name for David Littman, who with his wife (the future writer) Gisele Orebi, posed as an English gentleman to carry out this risky mission.  The screening starts at 8:00 pm and is expected to finish by 9:30 pm – tickets are available from RJCC and cost £5
